Whole Lotta Love

♫ Hello boys and girls! ♪

So I realize I haven't been writing an incredible amount since I started blogging again... I have avoided that with pictures and videos. I'm going to just use words in this post, to even things out.

I'm not sure what I want to talk about. I know that the primary nature of the blog here used to be a humorous one, but I have felt less invested in humor of late, as you can all probably tell.  I still think that humor has its place, and that it will return to the blog in full force at some point.  Right now, due to the nature of my turbulent personality shift, I'm going to continue focusing on this concept of love that I have been prodding at.  Just beneath that interest in universal and unconditional love are all of my old interests, which have all evolved in a way to become more... humanistic.

If any of you follow me on Twitter or are my friend on Facebook, you have probably noticed that I have increased my activity on those two social networks to a great extent.  Those of you who have known me for a certain amount of time will recall that I have been (at the very least) on the fence about social networking on the internet.  There have been times in the past when I have been completely down on Facebook and ready to delete my profile.  Today I have found a resolute answer to my personal predicament with social networking: social networking is of paramount importance for the next few years of humanity's existence.

I have come to believe that the internet is probably a better place for a self motivated, tech savvy individual to educate oneself than anywhere else.  I think that a big part of that "education" now is social networking.

Now, to be sure, Facebook and Twitter and Google + all have their various limitations and whatnot.  But I have to say that my biggest beef with Facebook in the past was the "spammy" seeming posts that came from games or other in-site apps.  And now that I have taken the time to block all of those things from my stream, I am really able to enjoy the stream of human consciousness occurring on my Facebook wall.

Speaking of "streams of consciousness," though, I have to explain to you guys how cool I think Twitter is now.  I didn't realize how powerful a tool it really was.  I have been using Twitter to search for terms of interest to me, such as "nuclear weapons," "world peace," and "Charmin Wet Ones."  Then I have to make sure to go to the actual "full search" stream, as opposed to the "top tweets" list.  What I have found is that this is literally like probing the common psyche of hundreds of thousands of people.  I can find people who are, in real time, talking about my topic of interest.  I can tweet @ them.  I am making friends with common interests by being outgoing and deliberate in the way that I am using Twitter.

I find it weird how I used to view Facebook and Twitter, at various times, as these little groups of friends, and never as ways to meet new people.  But, especially with Twitter, I find meeting new people easy and spiritually rewarding now.

It feels really good to explore different ways to push positivity out of me and into the world.  I find the internet to be the most powerful tool for that.  I think that it will both cause an intellectual revolution for people in my generation and the one following, and probably eventually unite us all so close to perfectly that we will attain a universal and shared sense of self-empathy.  A kind of oneness of perspective.

I wonder how you guys out there go about meeting people who have common interests to you?  Or do you?  I know many people who seem to have enough people in their lives. I used to feel that at times, although I know for sure that I will never feel that way again.  I will never stop wanting to meet the next person, until I have met and known them all.

What do you all think about Facebook/Twitter/Google + and whatever else? I have a Google + account now, but have not really used it at all. If any of you out there have Twitter and aren't following me, by the way, I'm @alkalibloo and you can friend me on Facebook with the link under my picture to the right.

I am interested in creating some more spiritual momentum, and right now I feel like meeting new people is the best way to do that.  If you guys know anybody that likes really funny shit, attractive men in their mid-twenties, spiritual stuff, political stuff, or anything else, you should direct them here for me!  I want to meet them!  And I want to know more about all of you! If you would be more comfortable talking in private than here in the comments sections on the blog (the best places to discuss) you can e-mail me at will.

Let me give you all the short list of stuff that I want to talk about.  Then everyone who reads this is obligated by my puppy dog eyes to leave me a comment and tell me what's up.  Even if you think I'm a raving lunatic. :-)

Photos of Earth W/ Humans

I want you all to know me as much as you care to.  I want to seem human to you, because I am, indeed, very human, despite the fact that you can't hear me right now as I am whispering these words in your inner monologue...

I want to appear disarmed.  I want this because I believe that humans go about harming each other frequently over PERCEIVED threat that is non-existence in others.  I want to give everyone I am meeting for the first time the best opportunity to disarm themselves so that I might get to know them in some deep and relevant way.  I want to make myself a target.  I want to interact with every human psyche interested in talking to me.

I am interested in pushing relationships with other humans into the realm of the personal, intimate, sacred and profound as fast as possible.  I believed for my entire life that it took years to know a man as I would know a true brother.  Today, I believe that rapidly formed intimacy is an imperative we have repressed to our own detriment.  That detriment is almost too terrible to mention.

Pictures will help me seem more real.  All of them were taken by me or Jera, I believe, but for any official purpose, they're all Jera.

I am loving interacting with people online right now.  Leave me lots of comments, eh?  I love them.  Also, make sure to follow me on twitter (there's a button on the sidebar) and to friend me on Facebook (side bar).  And if anyone out there has no other way of knowing when my blog is published because they aren't that into computers, please e-mail me, and I will simply just e-mail you a link to each new blog!

Humans rule.

My friends and family rule.

My blog readers rule.

And.... Pictures.

Longmont has... a cool collage.

These are some silly business cards I made... a prototype really. I like them.  Will make more.  I give them to like minded people.

Moar.

Since I write... I need these writing implements.  And this tiny multi tool.  They stay on a necklace I weaved.  They also help me gain peoples' attention.

Slap Bracelet Watch! Boo Yeah! Jera got a matching one.  $10.

 Ohhhh yeah.

Other folks will respond to this if I am not loud enough to get them to hear me.  Good trick.  Revolutionaries need whistles.

 That necklace thingy again.

The really expensive watch is the one that doesn't work.  Yea, I wear them both at once.  Because I want to get people's attention long enough to get them to make eye contact with me.  Then I talk to them.  This is why I am happy.

Jera made me this bracelet.  It says "I Love U" and she has a matching one!  She is the best craftswoman I've ever known and is teaching me a lot about working with my hands.

....
That's what she said.

This dress is a sculpture we saw at a sculpture show.

This table is being transformed as a caterpillar wrapped in its cliche... more to come.

Finally, some buttons with racists on them!

I heard the ice cream truck... I thought...

 Two Friends, One Hike

There's something I don't trust about this dude's eyes...

Remember the other day when we were talking about love....?

I used to hate myself so much that I would make myself throw up. I thought I was fat. This was around three months ago...

Longmont has... huge mac 'n' cheese.

Colorado has the visual representation of what some cultures refer to as "the grace of God."

You know when you are listening to a rock ballad... usually 80s hair band stuff?  And while you are rockin' out, you just kinda have to... point at your friends? And others? To tell them: "this song is cool, and so are you?"

Peppe-jack cheese, tomato, Red Hot, Grey Poupon Deli Mustard, and onion on wheat.

This crafty son of a bitch thought she was gonna see about my steak.  Pffft.  Dumb cat.  This particular piece of meat was tremendous, BTW.

 Wish you were here.

Jera made a snack. Tomato, feta, lettuce, english muffin, yummy.

 I DECLARE WORLD PEACE!

LOVE!

Open Mic Night, 'Aight?!?

Ok.  First off: Alexandra, I owe you big time for being so late with this.  So decide my fate.  I'm sorry.

Second: This video blog was tricky because I have never read poetry aloud before (at least not enough times to feel at all comfortable with it).  So I am a little nervous showing you guys.  Since I didn't shit my pants or break down crying in the middle of reading either of these (there are two poems), I just left this take the way it was.  That means the sun is glaring in the silly glasses I am wearing, and I accidentally call the Tsaritsa's Zine "Dreams" (because the last copy had the word "Dreams" on the front of it).  The title of her zine is actually "Be About It," and you can read about the zine here.

This post is exclusively in response to this post at Alexandra's Blog.  Check it out.

Here's my second video blog:

Third: here's the background on my computer right now.  Do you find it funny?

It cracks me up almost every time I see it.  Ya heard?  You guys should tell me what your backgrounds are.  I think you can tell a lot about people by their desktop background.

One more thing.  To be clear, for you Haight: I am passionate about many things, but what I am MOST passionate about is making the world look like THIS....

... in as many places as possible, as fast as possible.  I am passionate about dissolving the government apparatus by fucking in the street in the middle of riots.

Racquetball In Boulder Area, Plus Other Shit

Hello, friends!

What's up? Let me show you this cool drawing I did:

In Decision

Some of you may recall that I was going to try to start learning how to draw.  This was my first attempt at drawing a human figure since then.  This is the most effort that I have ever put into a drawing of a human, and I am really pumped up to share it with you guys!  Tell me what you think about it.  The face turned out a little long, so it doesn't resemble Jera as much as I had wanted, although the drawing as a whole resembles her more than I had expected.

Re: My Previous Post/Blog Stuff

I wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciated the conversation that ensued after my video blog the other day.  That was awesome for me.  I am interested in talking to other people and turning this blog into more of a place where ideas are discussed and bounced around instead of a place where I just blow my mouth off like an idiot on a bi-weekly basis.

To that end, I am wondering if any of you have strong opinions on blog comment formats?  I have seen stuff like "Disqus" and other such apps.  I don't know how easy they are to work with though, and frankly I am a bit wary.  I think I would sacrifice reliability for functionality by switching to Disqus...

I am really interested in someone else using this space to talk about something or display something that seems fascinating and relevant.  So if there are any guest bloggers out there, we might could do something, too.

Also: I want to write and create for other peoples' blogs and publications.  So if anyone has anything brewin' you ought to let me know.

Racquetball

I started going to the gym to play racquetball a few months ago.  Hours of solitary enjoyment have been mine as a result.  Now it's time for me to find someone to play with.  Here's the craigslist ad I posted earlier today.

If you live in the Boulder area and you know a person from either Scenario A, B or C, please e-mail them this link:

Also, link them to my blog, for Christmas' sake!
And link all your cool friends here too.

Tell me what you think about the racquetball ad.  And lets talk about how we can make this a more communal/think-tank environment.  A philosophical think-tank with jenkem and cross dressing.

Love.

Everything Changes

Wow... Blogger changed while I was gone.

I made a video blog.  Tell me what you think.  Also, I changed the "About Me" and stuff (the links, up top) and updated my book and music and photo.  Etc... Etc... Etc... boat races.

:-)

Love.
