Open Mic Night, 'Aight?!?

Ok.  First off: Alexandra, I owe you big time for being so late with this.  So decide my fate.  I'm sorry.

Second: This video blog was tricky because I have never read poetry aloud before (at least not enough times to feel at all comfortable with it).  So I am a little nervous showing you guys.  Since I didn't shit my pants or break down crying in the middle of reading either of these (there are two poems), I just left this take the way it was.  That means the sun is glaring in the silly glasses I am wearing, and I accidentally call the Tsaritsa's Zine "Dreams" (because the last copy had the word "Dreams" on the front of it).  The title of her zine is actually "Be About It," and you can read about the zine here.

This post is exclusively in response to this post at Alexandra's Blog.  Check it out.

Here's my second video blog:

Third: here's the background on my computer right now.  Do you find it funny?

It cracks me up almost every time I see it.  Ya heard?  You guys should tell me what your backgrounds are.  I think you can tell a lot about people by their desktop background.

One more thing.  To be clear, for you Haight: I am passionate about many things, but what I am MOST passionate about is making the world look like THIS....

... in as many places as possible, as fast as possible.  I am passionate about dissolving the government apparatus by fucking in the street in the middle of riots.

Love

Thank you Charles, you read not one but two poems for us! I loved the first one more. It was great to have a video that is not a bunch artifice meant to distract and numb our thoughts.

What am I passionate about? Its really one thing, I want to leave this world a beautiful place for my niece and all the children of this world. Life can be better and I try to do my little part to make it better. For me there are so many beautiful experiences that our children today are being robbed off, by and large by us, today's adults. All my passions flow from this one over arching passion. I am passionate about children learning, especially girls. I am passionate about my freedom. I am passionate about ridding this world of nuclear weapons, and nuclear power and even nuclear families, as a product of an extended family, I believe that extended families are beautiful and makes for by and large a better society. I am passionate about nature and while I acknowledge that I can't control it I believe that I can do better about it. I am passionate about baking. Oh and if I were able to afford to I would gladly travel the world.

As for me desktop, I change them pretty regularly, I don't have any written messages on them I see alot of words anyway. I have had mountain side steps, trees, open fields, autumn leaves, the sea and I usually find them at National Geographic Website. What does that say about me? You let me know.

Great reading! I'm surprised you haven't read poetry before because your performance was excellent and full of... passion!

Nukes and biological weapons scare the shit out of me. I wish we could get rid of them all. The fact that countries are still building them is truly frightening.

My desktop wallpaper is a Space Invader mosaic that I took a photo of in Venice Beach.

Also, if anyone wants to join in the giveaway you can read about it and enter it here: http://thetsaritsasez.com/2011/08/great-giveaway-spill-your-passion-for.html

That was a very good reading, Charlie. You absolutely conveyed the passion within your work. I am passionate about improving myself, if only just a little, every single day. It can be infectious. That's how we can change the world.

I feel like now taking you to one of those artsy fartsy joints in the Miami Design district for poetry night. Those are awesome.

Love the last picture and your drawing as well and the fact you're wearing glasses in your video. Must confess I'm not much about poetry but your writing always rules.

Finally, I love your Lupe inspired tweets. Keep 'em coming!

Your poetry is amazing. I felt as if you looked inside of my soul and told my story. You have so much inside of you to be used, I think you have the ability to change your part of the world! I am glad to hear you are happy, and I believe you will continue to develop and grow as you share more of yourself with the world.

Be Blessed!
